Hello from northwest Ireland, where my family lives (reasonably) green in a centuries-old stone house on a few acres of riverside garden and hillside pasture. More information about me is on my blog at http://stonyriverfarm.blogspot.com .

I'm a full-time writer, and volunteer for my local family caregivers' support group:  I produce their monthly 8-page newsletter and created our website at www.carersgroup.com . (We're assembling an anthology of caregivers' stories in September 2008, and welcome yours if you'd like to share!)

The ones I care for are my three children, two of whom have autism and keep me charmed and challenged. My eldest is a gifted (moody) artist who will be going to art college next year after many years of being a star student: I'm very proud of all of them.

My eldest daughter and I are Mensans; we're also Wrimos if you enjoy National Novel Writing Month at www.nanowrimo.org, where you can find me as a Municipal Liaison for Ireland:Elsewhere.

I like Scrabble but I don't know all the two-letter words like some players do. I get more laid-back about things (lazy) as I get older. I like walking too, long rambling hikes in the countryside, and lucky me, I have beautiful landscapes to walk in here.
